Diazepam is basically a generic form of valium. So, yes it is pretty much a tranqulizer.
Diazepam is in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. Diazepam affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause anxiety, seizures, and muscle spasms.
Diazepam is used to relieve anxiety, nervousness, and tension associated with anxiety disorders. It is also used to treat certain types of seizure disorders and muscle spasms.
Side effects:
If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking diazepam and seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor immediately:
an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; or hives);
sores in the mouth or throat;
yellowing of the skin or eyes;
a rash;
hallucinations or severe confusion; or
changes in your vision.
Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take diazepam and talk to your doctor if you experience
drowsiness, dizziness, or clumsiness;
depression;
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation;
difficulty urinating;
vivid dreams;
headache;
dry mouth;
decreased sex drive; or
changes in behavior.

Although not a traditional tranqulizer, DIAZEPAM has similar effects but is proported to have fewer addictive properties.
“Diazepam is used to treat anxiety, acute alcohol withdrawal, and seizures. It is also used to relieve muscle spasms and to provide sedation before medical procedures. This medication belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines which act on the brain and nerves (central nervous system) to produce a calming effect. It works by enhancing the effects of a certain natural chemical in the body (GABA).
OTHER USES: This medication may also be used to prevent extremely bad nightmares (night terrors).”

It is not very addictive.
Everyone I know has taken them including me.
It is a tranquilizer and Valium is a more common name.
It can be used to get over alcoholism or to just relax you.
I find them effective and like them in moderation.
I can find no after effects.

Yes..very close. It slows down your nervous system. The brand name of the drug is Valium if you don’t already know…It is used for ppl with anxiety.

Yes. It’s also a smooth muscle relaxer. Diazepam is exactly the same thing as Valium.

Yes and very addictive ones …also very sedative…cause more falls and accidents than any other class….actually by now they should be almost obolete…there are are so many other choices.

i have taken tramadol and all it does is make me speed. i think that medicine works differently for some people

I’d just stick with 2, it may just take a while to kick in. Three may be dangerous. Or not. But better safe than sorry.

Depends on your tolerance. I take (3) 50mg Tramadol when my back is really hurting and Im okay. Call your doctor to be sure.
