I was in The Netherlands 2 years ago and was so sick. Sometimes even doctors just don't prescribe drugs in The Netherlands as they believe more on self healing process by yourself. I remember my officemate who is an American but working in NL usually buys medicines in the US during her vacations and brought to NL as she finds hard to as for a prescription from doctors, but of course she use those for emergency purposes only.
