My new doctor just prescribed Prozac for me and said that it may cause me to gain weight. I am terrified since I have an eating disorder and gaining any weight horrifies me. In the past I have been on several other anti-depressants and none of them caused me to gain weight. I don’t know what to do.

I have been on Prozac for 4 months for anxiety, but it has given me horrible side effects and has just made my anxiety worse. I’m just wondering, if I stop taking it, how long does Prozac take to leave your system? And how long would it take for the side effects to go away??

I’ve taken prozac (20 mg) per day for about 6 years. I want to ween off of it gradually because I would like to become a mommy soon. I’ve tried cold turkey and it was awful! Not to mention dumb on my part. I was going to take a pill every other day to ween off, but I don’t know for how long to do this for until I can stop all together. I’m guessing about 2 weeks? Thanks =)

I am on 20 mg of Prozac daily and I am wondering what the side effects would be if I just stopped taking it?

I was just put on prozac (40mg/day) for anxiety and depression. Does anybody know if it is difficult to lose weight while on it?
