What Do You Think Lately After Reading About The Ineffectiveness Of Tamiflu And The Side Effects Of Vioxx?

I know nothing about Tamiflu, but I had taken Vioxx for very painful arthritis and for the first time found pain relief! I felt great after years of suffering. Despite the possible side effects, I would still take the Vioxx. If it meant there was a possibility of heart complications- I’d rather live a little less time than continue on in pain for years. Besides which, while on the Vioxx, I became active and thus lost weight and was less depressed. Possibly it may have increased my life span, in spite of possible side effects..

  1. I think that much of medicine is trial-and-error, and not nearly the “scientific” practice it claims to be. I think Americans are brainwashed by pharmaceutical powerhouses that pump immense amounts of money into producing TV commercials where purple pills fall from the sky and everything’s okay. I think people watch too much TV and are too damn gullible. I don’t think people know the HALF of what’s in the various things that may be sitting on the shelves of their medicine cabinets. Keep in mind that only 15% of all medical interventions are subject to even ONE scientific study. The rest? Custom and preference, and if the pharmaceutical rep is cute enough and gives you tickets to a basketball game in exchange for prescribing HER company’s drugs, bribery.
